Meet Gwen. She's failing out of community college, partying hard, and making questionable life choices. One morning, she wakes up in a ditch in the middle of the forest and everything falls apart.
Meet James. He's an award-winning architecture student who turned down a summer fellowship to take care of his aging and manipulative grandmother. He tucks his shirts in his khakis and wears sparkling white tennis shoes.
Gwen and James have nothing in common. But together, they discover that they can travel in time, and go back to Republican Rome, 67 BC.
Gwen travels into the body of a Roman matron, the wife of a powerful general. James travels into the body of a Tribune of the Plebs who is heavily in debt and longing for a more lucrative lifestyle. Together, they meddle in politics and break precedents, putting their lives in danger and--just maybe--changing the course of history.
This is the description of my unpublished novel, Veto Power. I'll provide updates as I go through the re-writing process and into the uncharted territory of query letters...
